KILLER CUSTOM MODELS
ABOUT PAUL
I love building scale models and in particular warship models. To me, a scale model of a ship represents history, personal experiences, and the friendship of fellow shipmates. I am a former United States Navy Surface Warfare Officer. I was a weapons specialist and served on USS Truxtun (CGN-35)—a nuclear powered, guided missile cruiser. I also spent several years as a systems engineer working on cruise missile programs. I am a volunteer instructor of military history at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at California State University Long Beach. My main areas of focus are World War II, and with an emphasis on the naval aspects of that momentous conflict. My technical and naval history background strongly influence how I build a ship model. My models reflect the specific equipment fit and camouflage scheme based on the customer’s specifications. A display case is included with each model. Each work is documented in a build log which includes the step-by-step process I use to build and modify the model, as well as the ship’s configuration information and history.
